The ON Time Delivery (OTD) Project focuses on improving supply chain management with the aim of ensuring the confirmed delivery date to the client is met.
Time and deadlines are the obsession of every Project Manager, but also of the heads of the Purchasing Department, the Technical Office, and Research and Development: our client. For this reason, in a continuous improvement process, we sought high-level professional and academic support to define the model and actions for progressively reducing delivery delays and enabling the company to become increasingly consistent and reliable in on-time delivery.
The perspective is that of subsequent digitalization through an extension—if functional and consistent—of the current ERP partner’s solution. This involves activating a simple and functional mechanism to communicate processing priorities to supply partners and receive feedback on the progress of the work.
The OTD project is carried out in the following phases:
- Build a shared order management model (from receipt to shipment to the final customer, including the planning of internal and external work orders and monitoring their progress).
- Control the reliability of the agreed delivery dates and promptly intercept any deviations by having a conscious management of internal and external lead times.
- Provide methodological tools and create the conditions for subsequent optimization of “logistics-production” lead times once their reliability is ensured.
Within the transformation journey of CIBEK’s product, priority critical factors have been examined to ensure the stability of on-time delivery and, in the future, to improve overall Lead Time.
OTD is a project in collaboration with the MADE competence center of the Politecnico di Milano (www.made-cc.eu) and QUIN (www.quinlive.it), currently in progress, with the collaboration of all Cibek personnel.
