Die Casting
From the idea to the perfect casting: how La Cibek combines experience and technology to guarantee quality in aluminum die casting. For over 55 years, La Cibek has been synonymous with experience, precision, and reliability in the world of cold chamber aluminum and zamak die casting. Our strength is not measured only in years, but stems primarily from a mindset: listening to the customer, analyzing every need, and transforming challenges into concrete solutions. Every project starts with a need and arrives at a measurable result — a perfectly finished, functional, and durable part. This is our method: pragmatic, flexible, collaborative, and always oriented towards the total quality of the casting.

Hybrid Die Casting: Optimization of Resistance with Brass Insert
The Challenge: A client asked us to produce an aluminum disk with a central hole intended for a component of a window lifter tool. The technical analysis revealed a structural limit: in that specific zone, aluminum alone did not guarantee the necessary resistance.
The La Cibek Solution: We designed a hybrid solution together with the client, working in co-design. The integration of a brass insert was limited solely to the critical area, maximizing the part’s effectiveness.
The Result: A stronger, more cost-effective, and longer-lasting part. An example of custom engineering, where functionality and sustainability go hand in hand, overcoming the structural limits of pure aluminum.

Stability and Repeatability
on Die Casting Projects at the
Limit of Capabilities
The Challenge: A project led us to work on a part at the limit of the presses’ capabilities. The client required high performance and a complex printable frontal area, on which it was necessary to apply specific pressure to respect technical requirements.
The La Cibek Solution: We adopted an analytical and integrated approach, tackling the challenge in multiple steps:
- Realization of an advanced simulation study.
- Integration of data into our Formula-Foundry software.
- Use of theoretical study data combined with press parameters actually used in pre-series to optimize them and obtain a compliant casting and a stable, repeatable process.
The Result: Thanks to these analyses and the optimization of the piston, runner, and feeding system, we achieved a stable, repeatable, and durable process on all produced batches. A case that demonstrates how digital innovation and process experience can coexist perfectly.

Case Study: Aesthetics and Design
Aluminum Die Casting: Design Handles with Reduced Draft Angles
The Challenge: A client, coming from the hot chamber zamak sector, asked us to redesign an aluminum component (a custom handle), maintaining a complex design with very reduced draft angles. It was a project of high technical difficulty, but also aesthetic, as the piece would subsequently be painted with a liquid glossy finish for a premium aesthetic effect.
The La Cibek Solution: We collaborated directly with the client in the co-design of the mold, finding a solution that combined their initial ideas with our production experience. Our specific technical know-how allowed us to balance aesthetic needs with productivity.
The Result: Thanks to the care for surfaces, we managed to respect the design requirements, guarantee the requested aesthetic quality, and ensure stable and repeatable production. A perfect example of how technical competence enhances the aesthetic aspect of die-cast aluminum.

Die Casting Problem-Solving: Feeding Optimization for Constant Quality
The Challenge: We received a mold from a client, reported to us for quality problems with the previous supplier. The first step was to purchase the correct type of material (special Al 5080 alloy) to create a first sample run. Analyzing the results, we realized that the mold’s feeding channel, with that specific alloy, was not adequate for the part’s needs.
The La Cibek Solution: Thanks to our experience in die casting and knowledge of materials, we completely rethought and resized the feeding system. For this project, we performed reverse engineering of the shot. Subsequently, we adapted the dimensions of the channels and runner branches to the special 5080 alloy, then simulating the modified shot. After obtaining a positive result from the simulation, we modified the mold and proceeded with sampling, obtaining a result compliant with the technical analysis performed.
The Result: Stable production with constant quality that fully met the client’s expectations. At Cibek, we believe that every piece has a story: behind every detail, there is a team capable of transforming challenges into concrete solutions.
